Description NAR ARS Needle Kit for decompression of pneumothorax

The ARS Needle Decompression Kit or Air Release System from North American Rescue is a decompression needle designed to deal with a pneumothorax that has gone into a closed (tension) state.
It is lightweight and compact, yet quite reliable.
Decompression is performed by expelling excess air from the pleural cavity.
Unlike its general medical counterparts, the ARS Decompression Neddle handpiece ends with an open reservoir to ensure that the needle is correctly positioned and decompression is achieved.
The needle holds two patents U.S. D595,847 and 001002372-0001
It is also in service with NATO and the US Army (standardised for use in Combined Arms Team Kits and included in field medics' kits).
Rugged needle with reliable catheter: 14 gauge x 3.25 inches (8.25 cm).
Easy-open container for quick access to the needle.
