Once the device is mounted on the weather vane, it immediately becomes an autonomous monitoring station, as the large blades and high-end rotating elements of the weather vane guarantee an accurate display of wind direction, while the weather station continuously measures and catalogs wind speed and other important environmental parameters. The LiNK app (for iOS and Android), which receives a signal from the weather station at a distance of 30 meters, displays Kestrel's real-time readings on a mobile device in a clear and customizable interface. The weather station can be conveniently stored and carried in a special pocket located on the strap of the weather vane cover. The entire kit weighs only 295 grams and measures 6.5 x 7.5 x 22 cm.
The weather vane can be easily mounted on a Kestrel portable tripod (or any other tripod) and adds wind direction measurement to your pocket weather station.
To measure the wind direction, the device must be mounted so that the wind is blowing into its back side.
The kit includes:
● Device clamp with built-in level for maximum accuracy;
● High-precision hinge for a standard 1/4 - 20 tripod mount;
● Lightweight slim rod and weather vane wing made of anodized aluminum;
● Case with a company logo.
