The Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform (IHWCU) is a lightweight, breathable alternative to the standard tunic used by the US Army. Manufactured to current U.S. military specifications using CORDURA NYCO Extreme 57% T420 High Strength Nylon / 43% Rip-Stop Cotton as the main fabric with 330D CORDURA® Nylon reinforcements.  Additional reinforcement in the chafing areas and seams are designed to make this hot-weather uniform as durable as the standard ACU, and the modern nylon/cotton ripstop fabric is designed to go from soggy to dry within 60 minutes. Sewn to military specification GL/PD 15-04E. Approved by the U.S. Department of Defense to prevent detection with NIR image converters. Tailored to military specifications for authentic appearance and comfort. Ripstop fabric provides extreme durability and protection from rips, tears and abrasions. It wicks away sweat and allows cooling air to pass through.
This uniform is designed to be cooler and breathe better than standard uniforms. Everything done in the design of the uniforms is based on the soldiers' preferences. The most noticeable difference between this uniform and its standard version is the lack of pockets on the chest of the uniform.
