● Ceramic grinding stone for fine polishing;
● Durable metal construction;
● 100% compatible with all Lansky kits and accessories.
INSTRUCTIONS.
1.Carbide sharpener.
Holding the knife with your dominant hand, hold the sharpener with the other hand: pull the knife through the desired angled slot. Just three to four strokes with moderate pressure will restore the blade. After sharpening, rinse the knife thoroughly.
Note: Carbide is extremely aggressive and should only be used for ultra-fast sharpening when necessary. For general edge maintenance: Use the built-in ceramic sharpening stone.
2. Ceramic sharpening block
Use a ceramic element with a medium grit (800) as a grinding stone. The ceramic sharpening stone is harder than steel, never wears out, and can be used frequently as the primary sharpening element for your QuadSharp™. The ceramic sharpening stone is also tapered for sharpening serrated knives.
(TIP: Before using the ceramic sharpening stone, you should re-sharpen very dull blades in one of the carbide slots).
3. Sharpening the teeth
Sharpen one notch at a time by pulling the ceramic element toward the fluted side of the notch. For larger serrations: Slide the sharpener from one side of the serration to the other. Repeat until the teeth are sharp and then move on to the next tooth line.
