The ECWCS Multicam six-layer protective jacket in GORE-TEX® PACLITE® fabric is designed to be worn over base layers of clothing during cold, very cold and/or wet weather.
ECWCS Gen III products use a lightweight (30% lighter than previous generations) two-piece GORE-TEX® PACLITE® fabric that provides 50% more protection against moisture and wind than previous generations.
Instead of a third inner layer, GORE-TEX® PACLITE® uses a thin layer of carbon and a grease-repellent agent to prevent the membrane from clogging the pores.
Its smooth inner surface reduces friction, allowing layers of clothing to glide. This gives extra freedom of movement and ease of putting on/removing clothes. GORE-TEX® PACLITE® membrane has a water resistance of 20,000+ mm, vapor permeability + g/m/24 hours: 25,000.
A limited number of companies are licensed to manufacture fabrics using GORE-TEX® technology.
