Wire Tap 2.0 is an evolution of the classic Oakley Wire Tap model: the updated shape has been enhanced for modern tactical and urban environments while maintaining the brand’s signature sharp lines and recognizable geometry.
The foundation of the model is the unique C-5™ metal alloy, which provides minimal weight (virtually weightless performance) while delivering maximum resistance to impacts, deformation, and mechanical stress. The frame features a narrow profile with comfortable adjustable nose pads that allow the fit to be customized according to individual anatomical features, which is especially appreciated by military personnel and those who spend many consecutive hours wearing sunglasses — for example, at a training range, during patrol operations, or while driving.
The sunglasses are equipped with Prizm Daily Polarized lenses with a pink base tint and only 14% light transmission — optimal for bright, changing sunlight throughout the day when both natural vision perception and maximum detail recognition of the terrain are essential. Prizm technology significantly enhances contrast, allowing more details to be identified, while polarization eliminates harmful glare from water, glass, asphalt, or metal surfaces, reducing eye fatigue even during prolonged observation.
Unobtainium® inserts on the temples provide secure retention of the sunglasses — the model stays in place during intense activity or sweating and remains comfortable even when worn under helmets, tactical helmets, or caps. Wire Tap 2.0 can also be fitted with Oakley RX prescription lenses, allowing eye protection and vision correction to be combined at the highest technical level.
